Praying For Ecuador

Shankle Law Firm is collecting donations for those affected by the earthquake in Ecuador.  Please drop any donations you have off at Shankle Law Firm by 5pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, as we will be delivering them the following day.

PRAYING FOR ECUADOR

The earthquake in Ecuador was particularly tragic news for Shankle Law Firm (SLF), as many of our past and present employees call Ecuador their first home.  We are a family here at SLF.  Our employees have parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and many other family and friends in the precise areas where total devastation has occurred

Imagine with me for a moment that these earthquake victims are your family members?  Your children searching for you under a pile of rumble? You searching for your own child, parent, sibling or loved one and praying to hear their voice on the other end of a call to know if they are alive. Disasters do not discriminate. Tragedy does not discriminate.  We must extend our arms across the ocean and help a country in dire need of our support.

What do the Ecuadorians need?  Water, hydrating drinks, powder milk, canned food and snacks, diapers for babies and adults, rain boots, closed toe shoes with rubber soles, matches, candles, batteries, flashlights, plastic spoons, plates and cups, bandages, over the counter medical supplies/medications, alcohol, toothpaste, toilet paper, shampoo, feminine hygiene products, etc.  They have lost everything in many coastal areas, and the basic necessities of life are being rationed.

Where can we take our donations?  Shankle Law Firm is participating in a donation drive in which the Ecuadorian embassy will be responsible for providing earthquake victims the donated supplies.  You can drop off your donations at SLF by 5pm on April 26, 2016.  Or you can also take your donations to: Cabos Mexican Cuisine & Cantina at 6676 Carmel Road, Charlotte, NC  28226.  These donations MUST be dropped off by April 28, 2016.

You can also donate through the American Red Cross and Compare Foods on Arrowood Road.

We hope that you are called to act and help the Ecuadorians with much needed supplies.  But, at the very least, please be thankful you are safe today and pray for the people of Ecuador.
