I was in a car accident that wasn’t my fault… now what?

When a car accident is not your fault, it may seem straight forward that the other person’s insurance should pay for everying. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple.

There are numerous steps involved, but here are a few things you can do in order help protect your case:

  • If there are any witnesses, be sure they stick around for the police to arrive in order to give their statement as well, or at least be sure to obtain their name and phone number so that they can give their statement to the police at a later time.
  • Be sure to take photos of the vehicles involved, as well as any visible bodily injuries you may have. This can help prove the magnitude of the collision.
  • If you are in pain, immediately go to the doctor in order to properly report and document all areas of your pain.

These are just a few examples of things that should immediately be taken care of; however, we would urge you to speak with an attorney that can guide you the rest of the way.
